Welcome to a world where stress, anxiety, and life's everyday hurdles have become the norm. It's a familiar terrain for many of us, but guess what? There's hope amidst the chaos.
Energy healing is an unsung hero in the quest for balance and holistic well-being. In this blog post, we're embarking on a journey into the realm of energy healing – a practice rooted in ancient wisdom and fueled by the subtle energies coursing through our very veins. Get ready to discover how this practice can supercharge your vitality, clear away those pesky blockages, and awaken the superhero healing powers within your own body.
The world of energy healing is nothing short of fascinating, and we're about to uncover its secrets, from principles to methods and all the potential perks that come with it.
What is energy healing?
One of the first questions I’m asked after I tell people I’m an energy healing practitioner is usually, “What’s… energy healing?” And I think I’ve refined my answer over the years, though it’s still a bit challenging to describe.
Science Direct defines energy healing as, “…an umbrella term for various therapeutic modalities that heal through accessing and manipulating energies and energy fields across the bioelectromagnetic spectrum, including “subtle” bioenergies.” Not a bad description for a scientific publication, but I think we can do better.
For practitioners, energy healing involves aligning oneself with the unified field in order to become a conduit for Spirit (Godforce) to administer healing that’s best for that person at that specific time. Healers do not decide what happens, they are merely the conduit, a willing vessel for their clients’ Guides to work through.
For the person receiving a healing, energetic blockages within the subtle body are removed, allowing for more of their “light body” to fill that space. This manipulation stimulates the body’s innate ability to heal. Depending on what was accomplished during a session, it may take weeks for someone to fully integrate.
How does energy healing work?
You might be wondering how energy healing even works, and that’s something modern science is still trying to explain. Those of us in the know, understand this modality, and others like it, have been used by many civilizations for millennia.
For example, the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism from the 2nd millennium BCE, were the first to provide a description of the seven chakras, which are thought to be the body's energy transmission centers. Acupuncture was also created by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners using meridians, the body's energy thoroughfares. Sekhem is an ancient healing system that was taught in the temples of early Egypt. These ancient societies employed various techniques to promote the body's natural capacity for healing, but they all understood the vast potential of internal energy.
Our bodies are energetic systems, with our heart, brain, and nervous system using energy for function. What we experience in life and the emotions that come from those experiences exist in our energy field first where we are meant to process and transmute these experiences so we can grow. If left untended or dismissed these energies become imbalances or blocks in our energy field that can contribute to emotional challenges, physical pain or illness, limiting life patterns, and other unwanted conditions.
Energy healing operates on the understanding that the human energy field is deeply intertwined with physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
What can energy healing help with?
Now that you’ve wrapped your head around the idea of what energy healing is and how it works, you’re probably wondering what symptoms, ailments and challenges it can help you with. Since energy healing can address any physical, emotional, mental or spiritual challenge, there’s not much it can’t do! That being said, it is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but rather a complementary modality that will further your healing process and possibly make your other treatments more effective.
You might find it interesting to know that energy healing has been prescribed to cancer patients for years to help remove chemotherapy drugs from the body and to facilitate relaxation which assists the body’s natural ability to self-heal. I’ve also found that therapy patients can make great progress when they incorporate energy healing into their personal healing plan.
If you find yourself feeling not like yourself, or you have a sense of being lost, that could be an indication that there’s something in the way of your progress. Limiting beliefs and thought forms, often learned from childhood, need space to be recognized in order for you to decide if they’re still valid and worth keeping. Energy healing can help bring those to the surface for you to process in a safe and natural way.
Challenges that arise from relationships, money, career, and family can all be addressed with energy healing. By removing that which is keeping you from reaching your highest potential or higher form, you’re able to find new ways of being that will actually give you the opportunity to improve your life.
I do want to mention that just because you want your relationship with your mother to be addressed in a healing session, doesn’t mean it will happen. Be cautious of a practitioner who says they can work on anything you want. Your Higher Self, your Soul Self, is the one who calls the shots in a healing session. The practitioner is merely a conduit for the healing energy, they are not “in control.” Your Higher Self knows what’s best for you and perhaps there’s an issue from childhood that needs clearing in order for you to find the pathway to heal that relationship with your mother.
How do I choose an energy healing practitioner?
First and foremost, use your discernment in choosing a practitioner. Book a discovery call or consult and get a sense of whether you pick up a good vibe. If they don’t offer consultations you could research their background, read some of their material, or sign up for their mailing list.
Be wary of the practitioner who shares too much information; take their words with a grain of salt. Someone who is very focused on dazzling you with messages from your deceased grandmother and details about your past life in Egypt might be looking to fan the flames of their own ego - and I’m sorry to say, but that’s not healing. If they pressure you to have a follow-up session that’s another sign they are in their ego-self and not in the best alignment to provide a healing.
Your path to healing is unique
Energy healing is not a mere remedy for what ails us; it's an unlocking of our body's own power to heal and flourish. And whether you're going through heavy emotions, physical discomfort, or life's intricate patterns, energy healing provides a holistic remedy that's entwined with our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. From relational struggles to the complexities of career and family, energy healing becomes a catalyst for unlocking your highest potential.
Keep in mind, choosing an energy healing practitioner should be guided by your own discernment. Trust your intuition, engage in consultations, and tread cautiously if met with oversharing or undue pressure. Remember, a practitioner is a conduit, not a controller.
